How Can You Keep Your Aroma Candles Last Longer?

Burning a candle is easy. You just lit the wick and it’s done.

But, using it properly can make it last longer.

Do you know how to make it?

Here are some simple, yet interesting tips to keep your aroma candles last longer.

     ·         Prep Up

Remove all packages and discard them before burning the candle. Place it on a level. Keep it protected by placing it in a heat-resistant area or on a dry surface. It should be far away from the reach of any children, pets, or drafty areas.

    ·         How to Burn a New Candle

There is a trick when you are lighting it for the first time. Allow it to burn for a minimum of two hours.

    ·         Avoid Keeping it Unattended

The most important thing is to avoid leaving a lit candle unattended. It’s a basic safety rule to follow when you’re using it.

    ·         Trim Wick

Always trim its wick before lighting it up. Do check if its wick is up to 5 mm long. It’s an ideal length for an optimum burn.

    ·         Allow it to Melt

The melted wax must reach the edge of the container. So, let it melt to that depth, especially on your first attempt at burning it. This happening avoids its tunneling.

   ·         Avoid Tunneling of Wick

If your candle tunnels, pop it up at 175 degrees for 5-10 minutes. This happening will melt it completely and you can have its flat and even surface.

   ·         Put it  Off

Here is a way! Just snuff it out instead of blowing it out when you don’t need its light. You may use a snuffer to extinguish your candle safely.   It prevents the splattering of wax.

   ·         Avoid Burning it the Way Down

It’s better to avoid burning it all the way down. For safety reasons, you should stop it burning when there is 5 mm of wax left.

   ·         Store in Cool & Dry Place

When your candle is not in use, store it in a dry and cool area. If possible, cover it with a lid before. This hack will protect it from dust. The uncovered one’s scent can turn dull and also, cause a problem in burning later.

   ·         Place a Dish under It

Take a small dish and put it on.  As the wax melts down, the bottom may turn a little messy. It will prevent possible heat damage to the counter surface or tabletop.

   ·         Prevent it from Air Currents

The current of air can burn it unevenly. It pushes candles to produce excessive smoke or soot that can stain the container. It is simply because a few unburned carbon particles start moving around if the wick is too long & blowing due to air.

   ·         Let it Cool Down Completely

The container of the candle takes at least two hours to completely cool down. So, avoid burning it in a short interval. It’s safer if you trim the wick when the wax is completely hardened, which generally happens in two hours. Otherwise, your fingers may burn.
